Life with Dignity: Emergency Water and Cash Relief for Displaced
Gaza Communities
Mawasi Khan Younis
Providing financial assistance of $300 to 235 families in Mawasi Khan
Younis.
Project Description
Safe drinking-water distribution in Mawasi Khan Younis – delivering
chlorinated water through secure trucking, on-site storage, and
community tapstands to serve approximately 400 displaced families who
currently have the highest unmet water needs .
Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) via e-wallets for 235 vulnerable
households across Gaza City, Khan Younis (Al-Mawasi), and Deir al Balah
prioritizing women-headed households, persons with disabilities, older
persons, and caregivers, to meet urgent hygiene and water-related
needs with dignity and choice.
This integrated approach directly addresses life-saving survival needs
(water) while enabling flexibility and dignity (cash).
By focusing water distribution on the most underserved displacement
site (Al-Mawasi) and extending cash to households in three key areas,
the intervention is both gap-filling and strategically aligned with the
WASH Cluster’s priorities, the Cash Working Group standards, and
Sphere minimum standards .
